MOBILE APP INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you install the App, you enter certain information in order to register the App. The information entered is your email address and password used for your Hubitat login (which is encrypted into a secure token before being sent to our cloud), the name of the Hubitat Elevation® hub (“Hub”) you connect to the App, and the name of the Mobile App Device on the Hub to be associated with your mobile device. This information is sent to our cloud to register the App. We call this information “Mobile App Registration Information''.
The App itself stores certain information in its internal storage. The stored information is the secure login token, the location of the center of your geofence, the circumference of your geofence, the name and hubId of the Hub the App is associated with, the device id of the associated Mobile App Device, Dashboards you may have installed and data associated therewith, and the most recent 20 notifications sent to the App by your hub. We call this information “Mobile App Internal Information”.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR MOBILE APP INFORMATION?
We use the Mobile App Registration Information to associate your mobile app to your Hub.
The Mobile App Internal Information is used within the App itself for its functionality, and is not sent to our cloud, except that the secure login token is used to establish a connection to your Hub and to other Hubitat services. When you use a Dashboard, the App will send commands to your Hub via our cloud as you cause to happen by using the Dashboard.
The App requests access to your location for the purpose of establishing the center of the geofence and in order to create geofence crossing events. This feature uses location data even when the app is closed or not in use. The location of your mobile device is never sent to our cloud. If access to your location is granted to the App, the App sends geofence crossing events to our cloud to be forwarded to your Hub.
SHARING YOUR INFORMATION
We do not share Mobile App Information with any third party; except we may share such information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we collect, or to otherwise protect our rights.
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.
Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you, or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to the United States.
When you register your Mobile App we retain the Mobile App Registration Information unless and until you ask us to delete the registration, at which time your provided information is removed from our cloud systems. When you remove the App from your mobile device, all Mobile App Internal Information is deleted.
