The built-in HomeKit Integration app allows you to share devices from your Hubitat Elevation hub to Apple HomeKit®. This allows use of the Apple Home app or Siri® voice control to view and control Hubitat devices, whether on an iPhone or iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, HomePod, MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Studio, Mac Pro, Vision Pro, or other supported Apple device.
HomeKit, Apple, and Siri are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries and regions.
Using an Apple Home Hub, such as many models of Apple TV or HomePod, enables additional features for all HomeKit devices (not just those integrated from Hubitat).
These added features include away-from-home control via Apple iCloud and the ability to use the Automations tab/feature in the Apple Home app.
Even without an Apple Home hub, Apple Home still allows at-home use of the Apple Home app and Siri voice control.
This includes even from devices added using Hubitat’s built-in HomeKit Integration app.
Most types of devices for devices that are directly connected to the Hubitat Elevation hub are supported, depending on the matching of Hubitat device capabilities to those offered by HomeKit.
These devices include switches, outlets, dimmers, bulbs (dimmable bulbs, color temperature bulbs, and color/RGBW bulbs), thermostats, window shades and window blinds, contact sensors (door sensors and window sensors), motion sensors, temperature sensors, presence sensors, and button devices.
Matter devices cannot be shared from Hubitat to Apple Home directly but can be added to Hubitat and Apple Home via regular Matter pairing methods, including both at the same time due to the “Multi-Admin” feature of Matter that allows multiple simultaneous pairing.
